Diesel Technician

Williams Dedicated is in search of a Diesel Technician to add to our talented Shop team in Normal, IL! The ideal candidate for this position would be someone who is reliable, self-motivated, and has a strong work ethic.

Shift:

  • 2nd Shift 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM Monday – Friday (with shift differential)

Job Duties of a Diesel Technician:

  • Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules, and installing component and part upgrades.
  • Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
  • Correct vehicle problems by removing, repairing, adjusting, assembling, disassembling, and replacing assemblies such as: power and drive trains, air brake components, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emissions, steering, hydraulics, oil systems, clutches, and traction units.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting diesel engine system with ECM diagnostic programs and other troubleshooting techniques preferred (i.e. Cummins Insite, Davie 4, and Tech Tool)
  • Knowledge of DPF System
  • Welding (experience not required)

Qualifications:

  • A Valid Driver's License in good standing is REQUIRED!
  • Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of diesel maintenance
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour based on experience
